Announcing Orb Self-Hosted
It is hard to believe it has been only five weeks since we launched Orb Cloud. Since then, we’ve added customers including ISPs, MSPs, educational organizations, logistics companies, Wi-Fi professionals, and individuals via our self-service plans.
However, customers of a certain scale or in highly-regulated industries were unable to use Orb Cloud as-is due to strict information security requirements that prohibit any company data in a third-party cloud. While Orb’s Local Analytics solution was adequate for some customer types, others needed configuration, orchestration, provisioning, and message queues to be fully self-managed. Fortunately, Orb is a very modern stack built from the ground up with end-to-end portability in mind.
Today, we are announcing a preview release of Orb Self-Hosted, offering Orb Enterprise customers the option to host a fully-contained Orb Cloud stack on-premise or in their own cloud.
Orb Self-Hosted looks just like the Orb Cloud you’re used to, but every function from access control to configuration management, from databases to message brokers, runs where you want it. The only notable difference being that Orb Cloud Analytics is replaced by Orb Local Analytics.
There’s really not much more to say – it’s the full Orb stack “in a box”!
